You can only remove index.php from your website url if mod_rewrite module is enable in your server.
Follow below step to remove index.php from url
1. Go to system->
Configuration->web->search Engine optimization-> yes
2. Go to
system->Configuration->web->secure->Use Secure URLs in Frontend->yes
Then save configuration
You will see that your url is now free
from index.php
